Symposia

We expect that symposia should consist of a series of 4-5 talks on an overarching topic.

The total duration of each symposium is 100 minutes (e.g., one conference session). The duration of each talk should be 20 minutes in total (15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion). The symposia can also be organized with four initial talks followed by the fifth slot left open for discussion. If symposium proposers plan on using this option we strongly encourage the proposers to submit questions which are addressed in this discussion with the proposal for the symposium.

For proposing a symposium, please submit a 500 word proposal stating how the individual talks are related and clarifying the benefit of a joint presentation. The symposia proposals will be reviewed by the board of organizers and/or members of IAEA. Author- and reviewer-supplied keywords will facilitate the review-assignment process. The members of the scientific panel will oversee all review procedures and make final decisions on acceptance. Before submitting a symposium, the chairs should collect abstracts of all individual talks of their symposium. Each individual abstract should consist of no more than 250 words and should follow the guidelines for structuring the abstract. The abstract for the whole symposium and the individual abstracts must be submitted via Conftool. During the submission process the abstract for the whole symposium and the individual abstracts should also be uploaded as one combined PDF document. For each talk, the document should include a single page, including names of the authors, their affiliations, e-mail address of the corresponding author, title, and abstract of the talk.

Please note that when submitting a symposium, for each talk title, names of the authors, their affiliations, and abstract of the talk have to be submitted as well. Notification of symposium acceptance will be sent by Mid February, 2016. Acceptance of a symposium entails acceptance of all talks of this symposium.
(In case a symposium is not accepted, individual contributions of rejected symposia may be submitted by their first authors as individual talks or posters before the general submission deadline.)
